B&B La Nannina

It was cozy and clean, and I felt right at home. The staff were lovely, and the location near the train station was great. I’d definitely come back. One of the best places I’ve stayed.

Andrea made our short stop in Florence count. He gave us a hand-drawn walking map that we really treasured, and it helped us make the most of the one night we had. The B&B is handy for continuing by train, and the T2 tram gets you there from the airport in under 20 minutes. Cars pass outside the ground-floor bedroom window, though the B&B itself is on the first floor; it barely bothered us. The room was fresh, clean, and tidy, with excellent air conditioning that you can turn up to cool the place quickly. Breakfast met expectations, too. We’d happily stay again next time we’re in Florence. Thanks to Andrea and the staff.

The main thing to plan for is that this is a small operation, and staff aren’t always around. A few times I needed help and couldn’t find anyone. Once, a gust of wind slammed my door shut while I’d stepped out for a utensil, locking me out for 30 panicky minutes. The staff were helpful and polite when present, but that gap in availability is why my five-star rating feels a bit generous. Otherwise, the stay was nearly perfect. There’s a small kitchen stocked with goodies around the clock, which I made good use of. My room was a decent size and comfortable, the Wi-Fi was rock solid once I joined the right network, and everything worked despite the bathroom being laughably small. I picked the place because it’s very close to Florence train station, in a large apartment building on the first floor. If you stay here, make sure you know how to check in and get into the property, and think ahead about when you’ll be in your room and what help you might need. There may not be anyone nearby when you need assistance.

The hosts were the highlight for us. They were kind, friendly, and helpful, offered several places to visit and eat around Florence, and let us leave our bags after check-out so we could explore more before leaving. I’d highly recommend this B&B. It’s also in a very convenient spot, less than a five-minute walk from the train station, which made arrival and departure easy. We came by train and got to the airport using the local train line. Breakfast was delicious and served in generous portions. The rooms are cozy, and the comfortable shared space gives the guests a nice sense of community. Florence itself is beautiful and easy to get around on foot.
