We liked the location, close to the main attractions and an easy walk from the rail station. The bed was comfortable, and the host helped once I managed to reach him. But getting into the place was a real struggle. We hadn't received entry instructions, so other residents helped us into the building. A different guest happened to arrive and gave us the contact details. It took five people and over an hour to reach our room. The room itself is basic and really needs work. The shower is tiny, smaller than a phone booth, and needs a deep clean. The floors weren't particularly clean either. I've read positive reviews and suspect some rooms may be better, but you don't get to choose which one you're assigned. If location matters more to you than the other things, this might suit you.

The room looked old and musty, and even the sockets were coming away from the switchboards. Ours was a triple room with one double bed, a single cot, and just one window. It felt suffocating, with the window facing a slushy back street and garbage bins. After two trips to Italy, this was the worst place we've ever ended up in, and at the worst price. Even the old little toilet was awful. Don't book here.

There was nobody to help with either check-in or check-out, and the entrance was strange. The room wasn't clean and the bathroom was small. They didn't answer my messages properly, and replied in Italian.

We got a video before arriving that explained how to pick up the keys and get into the room, which made things straightforward. The room was spacious, warm, and clean, with a kettle, tea and coffee bags, and biscuits. The location is excellent, very close to the train station and not far from the center. We stayed two nights in early January and were happy with it. I'd recommend it for a stay in Florence.

The apartment is well placed for getting around Florence, and the rooms were clean and decent. I didn't meet the owner, but when I called about the PIN code, he replied quickly and sent directions. The housekeeper was very helpful and even saved me €20 on luggage storage. I'd stay here again if I return to Florence.
