The woman who checked us in was super nice, and the garden was adorable and smelled amazing in the mornings. The apartment itself was okay, but we had expected a hotel and it felt more like an Airbnb. There was no room service, and we only found the spare towels tucked away at the end of the stay. I was there with my parents and boyfriend. The place had a kitchen, table, sofa bed, bedroom with a mirror and bed, bathroom, and a small outdoor area with a table, chairs, and ashtray. The sofa bed was comfortable, but I’d say it suits two people better than four. There was no door between the bedroom and living room. A door could separate those sleeping in the living room from the bedroom and bathroom, if that makes sense. When we shut everything at night, moisture built up inside. We woke to wet floors and a really cold apartment, even during Florence’s extreme summer heat. The bathroom was okay. We only had one key, so whoever was in the room had to wait for the others to get back. I also wouldn’t call it completely safe from break-ins: it’s on a busy street with people walking by all the time, and people could enter after someone opened the gates. The location is very convenient, about five minutes from the train station, which helped with arrival on Florence’s narrow, bumpy streets and made day trips easier.

The bed was comfortable, and our host kindly shared a list of recommendations. The location was convenient too, close to many of the main attractions. 😃

PLEASE READ TO THE END. The apartment itself is nice enough, and you can get by there for a few days. But for this price, I’d expect a washing machine and dishwasher. Neither was there. The completely unacceptable issue is a howling alarm every morning at 5 a.m. It goes off for 7 seconds every 30 seconds, and keeps doing that for two hours. Sleep is impossible. The kids woke up every time, and we were exhausted for the rest of the day. It sounds like an air-raid siren and wakes everyone, even the drunk people. I can’t understand how the locals put up with it. Maybe there aren’t any locals living here anymore, just tourists. In any case, avoid the whole area because the sound carries through it. I recorded the second clip from bed after I managed to get the little one back to sleep, following an hour awake, with all the windows shut. P.S. I don’t know why Google Maps servers remove the sound from the videos. I uploaded them so people would know about this.

2023/11 Really good value for a fantastic place to stay, just a five-minute walk from the central station. Most of the famous sights are reachable on foot in 15-20 minutes. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need, and the staff are very friendly and patient when explaining things. Highly recommend it for convenience and value.
