B&B Stanze Guelfe

The neighborhood was the main downside for me: it felt dirty and hectic, and a bit dodgy after dark. There are lots of restaurants nearby, though many seemed like tourist traps. The balcony was barely usable too. It was tiny, blocked by a large ladder and the AC unit, and looked onto someone’s garden, so I didn’t want to peer out. A big dog there barked often and woke me at night. Inside, the room was bright, clean, roomy, and the AC worked properly. They’d provided the listed equipment, including a hairdryer and steam iron. Check-in went smoothly, and the two locked doors made the place feel secure. The bath setup wasn’t ideal, since it was a tub with a shower head and I worried water would splash everywhere, though the tub itself was spacious and comfortable to lie in. The boiler was off when we arrived, and at 11 pm the host didn’t respond, so we had to figure out how to get hot water ourselves. These are minor things, but worth knowing.

Florence was right outside the door, and we had a magnificent stay.

Everything felt cozy and comfortable, and it was clean. The service was excellent too.
