Cavour 106 in Firenze

Nice place, and the staff were friendly too. The apartments aren’t modern, but do you really need a modern hotel in Florence?

The receptionist who was a young woman seemed alright, but the older lady put me off, so I avoided her completely. The stay itself was miserable: mosquitoes kept attacking us at night, while construction outside made noise during the day. The internet didn’t work in room 40, nearest to reception. If you’re driving, finding the place is nearly impossible. I only managed with help from a local, and there was nowhere to stop or park temporarily. I had to park illegally, then walk close to 1.2km to find it. It’s absolutely not worth the price. I travel around the world, and this is among the three worst places I’ve stayed. The other two were one in Laos, where the room had bed bugs, but the operator fully refunded me and was genuinely sorry, and an Airbnb in SG where they hadn’t cleaned after the previous guest. This hotel tops the worst list.

We thought the hotel was worth what we paid, especially with free breakfast. It’s an old building with an old-style elevator, which adds to its charm. Service was good, and the staff were friendly and very accommodating.

We paid an exorbitant price and got almost nothing for it. The service was really bad, and even basic toiletries like toothpaste weren’t included. The WiFi was so weak that we had to leave our room to get a signal. Our room was dark and smelly, the street was very loud at night, and the hotel is quite far from the city center.
