Corsini Tintori Guest House

We stayed in winter and loved it. The room was huge, with high ceilings, a painted decorative ceiling, tall street-facing windows, and a large bathroom tucked into one corner. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and the shower was great. The setup is a little unusual. You ring the street bell to be let in, then go through a huge wooden door into a dark entry hall, with a broad apartment-style staircase and an old-fashioned wood-lined lift. If you’ve seen Ripley with Andrew Scott, you’ll probably want to film the place. On the second floor, or maybe the third, there’s what used to be the apartment entrance. You open it with a code, then find a lobby with your keys in a coded box and a row of bedrooms beyond. The lobby is technically unstaffed, though we ran into a very nice young guy a couple of times. We had a few questions about the bedding, and someone answered the phone and sorted them quickly. I’ve seen some wild reviews lately and don’t know what people expected. It’s an old Roman apartment building, not a new Hilton.
