Corte Guelfa

The reception hours added to the inconvenience: it only opens in the afternoon and shuts at 8 PM. The layout also felt poorly planned. Our bedroom and the sofa bed were downstairs, where closet space was very limited, while the upstairs living room became a place to stash luggage. I wouldn’t recommend it for families with kids, especially given the storage problem. Cleaning was disappointing too. The floor never got mopped, and after we came back, only some of the trash had been removed. We had to carry some rubbish to the street bins ourselves just to make room.

The service was amazing and the rooms were exceptional. No need to keep looking, just stay here. I’d happily come back soon if I’m in Florence.

The rooms themselves deserve good marks, and the staff were kind and did what they could. But we had a rough three nights because it was too hot to sleep. Temperature was 25c or higher, nearly 80F, and the centrally controlled system kept sending out hot air. Since our room was on the ground level, leaving the doors wide open for air wasn’t an option. Breakfast was adequate, though underwhelming for Italy. Sleeping is the main reason to have a room, so the heat was a real shame.

Our family room had plenty of space, with a bedroom, living and dining area, and two shower rooms. It would easily work for four people or a group of friends. The location is central, only a few minutes from most attractions, and the price is very competitive. Housekeeping came daily and kept everything in good shape. The mini fridge had complimentary still and sparkling water, refreshments, and snacks. Breakfast was included, decent, but nothing special.
