Dedo Boutique Hotel

This little B&B sits in a quiet residential part of Florence. We were at the historic center in about 15 minutes, and the train station was a quick 5-10 minute walk away. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff were extremely helpful. The elevators are tiny, though that seems common in small hotels. I’d definitely come back.

This place was run down, and it’s nowhere near a boutique hotel. The beds were uncomfortable, and water went all over the place when we showered. We’d booked multiple nights but left after the first one. About Dedo’s response: if I’d left a five-star review, would you still ask why I’m writing so late? I doubt it. I’ve kept traveling over the last four years, and other hotels have reminded me how awful my stay at Dedo was. I’m sharing it so people know what to expect. Why would anyone return when reviews from the past year suggest nothing has changed? You tried to make up for a horrendous night with a cup of coffee. Why offer that at all? If you want people to change their minds, make renovations and take complaints seriously. We should have been refunded for that awful night and experience, but we weren’t offered anything.

We had a really nice stay. The location was just right and quiet, the rooms were roomy and clean, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast had lots of choices too. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

We were able to check in early, which was lucky, and there’s also a place to leave bags if you arrive before check-in or leave later. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main sights and Santa Maria Novella station. Breakfast was good and they kept replenishing the food. The reception staff were very helpful and kind, and spoke excellent English. It’s a small, cozy place in central Florence, very clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, even disposable slippers. We’d definitely recommend it.
