Hotel Domus Florentiae

Salah made breakfast especially memorable. He was helpful and professional, and prepared fresh juices, different kinds of eggs, and excellent coffee. Many thanks to him for everything. We arrived late on the last day and the reception staff gave us a warm welcome. The reception team were experienced, and the breakfast staff were excellent, especially with the coffee. Our large family room was clean, with a beautiful bathroom and a nice view. The room was lovely, the breakfast good, and the hotel is near the station, in the city center, close to the markets and main square. We had a very good holiday and I’d happily return. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Breakfast was the best part of the stay. Mr. Saleh at the bar/restaurant was extremely welcoming and kind, and each day he made scrambled eggs with milk and cheese. They were delicious and clearly prepared with care. The room itself felt old and poorly maintained, and the worn blanket and bed cover were full of lint and looked unhygienic. The shower was rusty and so unstable it could come loose when turned, while the water temperature kept shifting and sometimes went cold. Almost all the facilities felt old, and the room didn’t seem clean or elegant. I also felt the hotel cared more about charging extra than looking after guests. The drinks and water in the refrigerator weren’t clearly marked as not free. On the last day I had two soft drinks and two bottles of water, then was charged 14 euros. That felt misleading and unfair.

We stayed for two nights and had a really bad experience. The place smelled terrible and didn’t feel like a four-star hotel. On our first night, we couldn’t sleep at all: it was noisy outside, and the broken window frame wouldn’t close properly, so it was cold as well as loud. When I complained the next morning, one staff member was very rude. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I arrived late on the last day and the receptionist greeted me warmly. In the morning there was a full breakfast with juices, different kinds of eggs, and coffee. I had a good holiday, and I’d like to thank Salah for everything.
