I felt unsafe dealing with the host, and the messages were hostile and aggressive. I asked for a later check-in after my travel plans changed and my train was due in late. The host spoke to me in a condescending way before I had even checked in. I said they deserved one star, which was my opinion, not a threat. They initially said late arrivals after 10pm would cost £10 per hour. After I asked about it, the cutoff changed to 8pm, which seemed very dodgy. Then the host kept pressuring me to cancel. Here are the messages I received through Booking.com and WhatsApp, with their original wording: Domus Plaza: You are not welcome anymore. We do not accept threats by anyone expacially if you only paid 70 euros for your stay! Cancel tge reservation right now you are not welcome anymore and you will not be aBle to check in since you do not understand our cortesy Domus Plaza: Cancel right now and we will accept your cancellation for free. You have 10 minites In 10 minutes our offer will expires 8 minutes... 5 minites 4... In 2 minutes you will not be able to cancel for free anymore and we close check in time at 8pm. Well you missed your chance The messages continued on WhatsApp: Domus plaza: Cancel the reservation right now!!! Right now!!!!! Or you will pay everything and you will not check in Right now!!! Or I will call booking you little child!!! Grow up and learn something!! I plan to share screenshots of our conversation on Reddit, R/Italytravel.

We kept returning to our room to rest or drop things off because so many of Florence's sights are around the centre. Domus Plaza's location was genuinely useful, and the Duomo view from our room was fantastic even though we didn't have a balcony. The room itself was clean, lovely and cozy, with tea and coffee-making facilities. Elena and Alessandra were really helpful while we were there. We also used the little in-room booklet for their restaurant and cafe suggestions. We were in Florence for a very important occasion, and the stay felt magical. Domus Plaza helped make it special, and we'd happily come back. Grazie mille for everything!

The hosts were some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and their restaurant suggestions led us to some of Florence's best places. The rooms were great, the service was outstanding, and everything went smoothly. The location is excellent too.

We stayed right in the historic centre of Firenze in a fantastic, spacious self-catering place. The location is an 11/10. Just keep in mind there are stairs to climb, especially if you're carrying a lot of luggage. Luggage storage is available for an extra fee, though the lockers are quite narrow.

Getting there was easy. We left the car in a secure garage outside the city, and Alessandro drove us to the apartment and back. Elena was very friendly and showed us around. The apartment was clean, spacious and in a great spot. The terrace for apartment 302 is one floor up and has a beautiful view. It was too hot during our stay at Domus Plaza for us to spend much time out there during the day. Would recommend it 100%.
