Duomo Home and Florence

Dunia and the team at Le Stanze del Duomo gave me wonderful hospitality, and I’ll always remember their kindness. The hotel is comfortable and charming, right in the heart of Florence. During my visit, a parcel had been returned to Italy from Australia, and Dunia went to the local post office to collect it for me. She didn’t have to do that, and her generosity made a stressful situation much easier. It’s rare to meet someone who cares so genuinely about guests. Dunia was warm, professional and exceptionally kind. Thank you again. I hope to return someday.

The room had no real view, but the central Duomo location was amazing. There’s plenty to do and lots of food within walking distance, and Pitti palace is less than 15 minutes away. Staff were friendly when we arrived and suggested places to eat and things to do nearby. They also let us leave our bags if we arrived early and wanted to get a bite before check-in. The beds and pillows were very hard. There was half a bottle of water in the fridge and used soap in the bathroom that housekeeping had missed. Light sleepers should know there’s a lot of street noise, though closing the windows and shutters helps muffle it. I definitely recommend staying here.

I picked it mainly because it seemed affordable, and was pleasantly surprised by how spotless the room was and how attentive and informative the staff were. The location puts you close to everything, and it was much quieter at night than other places I stayed. A few times the building entrance smelled unpleasant, but the hotel area, especially the room, smelled good.

The staff were really kind and gave me an introduction to Firenze, along with lots of discounts for restaurants and attractions. The cleaning staff were considerate too and left my belongings untouched while cleaning. The room was spacious and clean, with an elevator and good security. It’s also well located near tourist spots, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
