The staff were nice and helpful, and the location is the main plus, with everything 15-20 minutes away on foot. But I found it expensive for the level of cleanliness, and I don’t recommend it. It didn’t feel up to the standard of a four-star hotel, and I don’t know how it got that rating. The room was really dusty. My first towel was stained, and every replacement towel also seemed unclean. The sheets and towels had a strange smell, even the fresh ones. Maybe it was the laundry product, but the smell made them feel filthy.

The leaky sink kept the towels wet, and when I told reception, it seemed like they didn’t make a note of it. The shower was very small and uncomfortable, and the bathroom had no proper vanity. The bed wasn’t the best either. To me, the hotel feels more like a three-star than a four-star place.

The women at reception were very kind, but the hotel seems to have gone downhill and is now quite basic and in poor condition. It’s far from everything. The décor is really bad, with an ostentatious 2014 look: torn wooden flooring, a fridge tucked into a cracked mirrored cube, and a horrible gold fibreglass headboard.

The staff were welcoming, sweet and very helpful, and the fresh breakfast buffet was fantastic. We hadn’t expected it to be so good: everything tasted great, and the cappuccino and espresso were excellent. We paid €193 for one Saturday night through Booking.com at a non-refundable rate, including breakfast and city taxes. The valet cost €27. Our small room was #109, listed as a Double or Twin Room on Booking.com, and it was fine for two or three nights. The hotel is a stone’s throw from the city centre, so it’s a great stay, especially if you find a special offer.
