Firenze Duomo Suite by Mmega

We wanted an authentic stay on our first trip to Florence, away from the chain hotels, and Hotel Duomo fit our needs at a reasonable price. The location is perfect, directly across from the Duomo, and our room had a balcony and a great view. The front desk staff were amazing. One of the women pointed me toward the best perfume shops in the city, for an experience you can’t get anywhere else. I highly recommend staying here!

The staff were all very nice and helpful, and we enjoyed staying in a room with a balcony view of the Dome. The location was convenient, and the street noise wasn’t too bad from our room, especially with the door closed since it was set far enough back. We only ate breakfast there once, but it was good. Even without a balcony room, you can enjoy the same view by having breakfast outside.

We loved opening the windows to hear the church bells, and the room got very quiet once we shut them. Breakfast was very good, and the staff gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. Great hotel, highly recommend.

The staff were excellent, and Hotel Duomo’s location is hard to beat, right across the street from the Cathedral it’s named for. I was put off at first by the dark entrance, tiny elevator, and decor that seemed stuck in the early 1960s, with a mid-century modern look. By the next morning I’d come around to it. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent, with everything we usually look for plus a different main course each day. The gentleman running it, whose name I didn’t catch, gave great service. The common area was a nice place to unwind at the end of the day. In the evening there was free coffee and gelato, drinks at reasonable prices, and books to browse. My only complaint was that the shower water pressure seemed low. Otherwise, perfect!
