The room was roomy, comfortable, and spotless, and the air conditioning was especially welcome in the summer heat. We found the staff attentive, warm, and easy to deal with throughout our stay. You’re right in the middle of the city, close enough to walk to the main sights, but the place still feels quiet and private. This Florence hotel exceeded what we expected, and I’d gladly recommend it.
We were close to Duomo plaza, and it took about 11 minutes to walk from the train station. The room had been renovated recently, but the door wouldn’t lock. We were there from Saturday to Monday, and they said nobody could come fix it before we left. There was blood on the comforters, too. The walls are so thin you hear everything day and night, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re a light sleeper.
We booked at the last minute and got a fantastic price. The room felt grand, with tall ceilings and windows, and the blackout curtains were great when we needed sleep. The location was even better, close to everything we’d come to Florence to see. Power went out about two hours before checkout, and another guest seemed to have the same issue at the front desk. It just meant we checked out a little early, no big deal. Luggage storage was handy since we still had a tour to do. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.
Getting here from the train station on foot with luggage took us around 10-15 minutes. A taxi wouldn’t save time. The hotel sits on a side street just off the Cathedral, next to a grocery store, and the staff were friendly. Finding reception in the building was a little confusing at first: go up two flights on the left. There’s a lift on the right, but it’s locked; press the button and the outer door unlocks when it arrives. The rooms were clean and nice, though smaller than at other hotels we stayed in. We didn’t spend much time in ours, and the high ceilings helped it feel less cramped. The room area was secure with a code or key. Breakfast was available for a small fee. A nice place to stay.
The location was excellent, just 10m from Duomo, with Carrefour next door, lots of restaurants, and great gelato across the street. I would have given it five stars if there’d been a tissue box and a water boiler. Also, the handheld shower head was sharp enough to cut my hand, so it needs replacing.
