Hotel Bijou Roof Terrace

Florence is a great base for this cozy boutique hotel, and the staff were friendly, with a delicious breakfast too. But the listing on booking.com said it was wheelchair accessible, and it wasn't. We had to carry our paraplegic family member up a flight of stairs, and the elevator couldn't fit his small wheelchair. Getting in and out was a hassle. If you don't have a disability, though, this is a great place.

We only stayed one night and wished we'd had longer. Everything we wanted to see was nearby, along with food and a supermarket. The room was gorgeous, with a lovely color scheme, old details mixed with a few modern touches, and a little balcony with floor-to-ceiling doors. I was grateful for the room's own split A/C after a hot day out. Staff we met were all really nice, and breakfast was a simple but filling spread. The one downside was a funky smell in the bathroom. After a few nights in Rome, this place felt like heaven. I'd highly recommend it.

The rooms were a disaster, the smallest I've ever stayed in, and for what we paid it felt expensive. We also heard water running from the next room and children screaming, so sound insulation wasn't good. The location is very good, just five minutes from the station, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic: a good croissant, some cheese and cake, scrambled eggs, jam, and bread. After we went out and came back, the towels hadn't been changed. One had makeup on it, and it had just been put back in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend this place again.

The room was fine, though mornings were noisy since it was beside the kitchen. The hotel is near the train station and about a ten-minute walk from the city center, and breakfast was good. On the first night, the shower cabin door broke into pieces while the receptionist was trying to fix it. He and I both got small cuts on our hands. I hope your hand's doing well if you're reading this; mine has already healed. Despite that incident, the staff were really nice. He helped as best he could that evening, and they moved us to another room the next day.
