Hotel La Gemma

After three weeks in Italia, the people at Hotel La Gemma stood out as the kindest and most attentive we met. Clara in housekeeping, Jean Luca and Andrea in management, Nenad, Luisa, Anna, Marcela, Sami, and so many others made us feel cared for. Jean Luca and Andrea, always so dapper at the front, gave us priceless conversation and recommendations. Marta and Francesco, both transplants from “the South”, made every day special and touched our hearts with their generosity. Please accept our apologies to everyone whose name we didn't catch, and our warm thanks to all of you. The hotel itself feels like an oasis away from the crowds around the Duomo and the shopping streets. It's lovely to look at, well appointed, and has excellent dining options and amenities.

Our suite was stunning, and dinner at Luca's was unforgettable. The service was warm and polished, with thoughtful details from the moment we arrived to when we left. The property is beautiful and perfectly placed in Florence, and the team sets a very high bar for hospitality. A special thank you to and for being so kind and attentive throughout our stay. The family-run feel at this boutique hotel comes through in the care and attention to detail. I traveled alone for the first time and was nervous at first, but I felt completely safe throughout, which gave me real peace of mind. The location is ideal, right by the train station and within walking distance of everything. The food was delicious and room service was top-tier. The rooms and service were impeccable, and the staff incredibly kind. Hotel La Gemma truly felt worthy of its five stars, unlike places where that rating doesn't match the experience. I loved my stay and will definitely be back.

We came away with memories we'll carry for life, and we're already dreaming about returning to La Gemma. It was our first trip to Europe, and the care we received made our honeymoon feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every interaction felt personal, and we were made to feel at home. A heartfelt thank you to Gian Luca Toscano, the manager, whose attentive, caring nature made a huge difference and who went above and beyond for us. Viridiana's warmth and attention to detail brightened every day. Giovanni, the restaurant manager, made dining there feel welcoming and memorable. We can't stop recommending this beautiful hotel to family and friends, and can't wait to go back.
