Hotel Marignolle Relais and Charme

The employees were the best part of our stay. Lorenzo, the owner, was patient and understanding while my plans kept changing, and Angela was warm and thoughtful in everything she did. I was especially grateful for their compassion when illness extended my time in Florence. Marignolle was close to the local hospital, where I went twice a day, and also convenient to the city center. The other guests I spoke with enjoyed the property's quiet and serenity before heading out to busy Florence. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained, and the large rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was perfect, and dinner each night was a welcome respite after busy days. I can't recommend the place enough. Thank you, Marignolle!

Angela was my host, and she's the best, so polite, warm, and service-minded. The hotel decor has the feel of a vintage, homey getaway, and she makes you feel welcome too. Her cooking is amazing! No complaints at all. A rare gem.

We extended our stay and will definitely come back. The buffet breakfast was full of fresh food and care, and the setting in the Tuscan hills of Florence, the hospitality, and all the little details made this feel like the closest place to heaven. What more can we say? 💖

I'm updating my review of our week-long stay in 2012, when we had Room #2. The boutique hotel was fabulous, with immaculate grounds and beautiful rooms. I also golfed at the famous, historic Ugolino golf course, and the hotel seems to be connected with golf. The room was lovely and just right for two, but looking back at my photos, I noticed terra cotta blocks over every window. They look like decorative cement blocks, but they leave the door as the only way out. In an emergency, you could be shut in with no other exit. I see it as a real potential fire hazard, both then and now. I don't know what the windows are like in other rooms or whether this has been changed since, as that would take significant demolition and construction. Check your room's windows and ask about fire safety. If you see decorative terra cotta blocks over them, change rooms. Italy's safety laws shouldn't allow this, but then again, this is Italy.
