Hotel Meridiana

There are supermarkets, the bus station, and plenty of restaurants close by, which made getting around easy. I stayed three nights. My bed was comfortable, the shower had good pressure, and I had a nice balcony. Cleaning and upkeep could be better, though: I spotted hair on the bathroom wall, the hallways looked worn, and there was a noticeable old smell. Decent stay overall, but better maintenance would help.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and public transit nearby made it easy to reach the museums and tourist spots. The rooms were clean, the beds firm. We could've used almost enough pillows, but what's with European hotels rationing them?!

I really enjoyed my three nights here. The staff were very polite, and the room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels daily and very clean linen. It's a nice three star hotel close to the old town. The rooms are small, as they are in Italian hotels, but ours was clean. Breakfast was a typical continental spread, not as rich as at a five star place, but enough to keep us going while sightseeing. I'd recommend staying here. I don't give the top rating because I like to leave room for improvement.

We had to find somewhere else at the last minute after the hotel failed to honor what we'd been told on the phone. We called soon after booking one night and asked to extend our stay. The staff member said he'd add another night for €50, payable at check-in. At arrival, reception knew nothing about the extension and said it would cost €93 for that night. They didn't take us seriously when we explained the earlier call. Bad customer service.
