Hotel Nazionale

The room was extremely basic and the bed was very hard. The outside looked nothing like the picture, and the area was busy and quite dirty.

The room was clean and spacious, and our quad room had a balcony. Hotel Nazionale is on the second floor, or third floor by American counting. Its location worked well for the station and main attractions. There was no mini fridge in the room, but we could use the shared one in the hallway. The elevator was unreliable. On our first try, its door wouldn’t open, and I really thought we might get stuck. We managed to send it back to the ground floor and get out. The staff were friendly, but rarely at the desk. Someone was there in the morning; at other times, you can buzz them from the street downstairs when arriving, or at the door opposite the hotel from inside the building. The toiletries weren’t enough for four people, though we had some shampoo left from our previous hotel in Rome. There was just enough toilet paper. Water sprayed through gaps at the bottom of the accordion shower door, leaving the floor very wet. It was an okay stay, though enough toiletries would have made it more comfortable. I also don’t think the price we paid was good value. Rates can change with the season, so search carefully.

For the price, it was okay and gave us what we needed: a clean enough bed and bathroom, close to the station and center. Would we return? Probably not, but it did the job.

The room was super clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and a good bed. The reception lady was especially friendly and helpful, just amazing with us. The hotel is very well located, close to the station and a few main spots like Mercato Centralle and Cafe Rosano. I recommend it 100%.
