Our stay at Hotel Santa Croce made an already lovely trip feel even more special. Florence was gorgeous with its Christmas decorations and smaller crowds, and the building and street have the charm of a historic landmark. Michelangelo grew up next door. The hotel is in the center, close to the museums and cathedrals, though the rooms are small, they were sufficient. We also had no trouble with the heating, unlike family members staying elsewhere. Mario and Gabriel were so kind and helpful, sharing ideas about places to eat and visit. Gabriel even arranged a taxi for our 6:30 a.m. airport flight, which took a lot of stress out of the morning. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and there was plenty of coffee. My husband and I have just returned home, and we're still grateful for their hospitality.

The studio we stayed in was lovely, and breakfast is available too. The owners made us feel very welcome, and the location was just right. We had a great time in Florence and would happily recommend this hotel.

The owner gave us a bit of a history lesson, which fits this hotel with its long past. The location is great, and the staff are very, very friendly. I'd recommend staying here.
