La Corte dei Principi

The breakfast was fine, but all the cookies and cakes made it much too sweet for me. Some cheese, jam, or another kind of bread might make it a little healthier. That was the only thing keeping this from five stars. We enjoyed our three nights at La Corte dei Principi: it's about a ten-minute walk from the city centre, and our room was clean, had air conditioning and a decent bed, with fresh towels when we needed them. The employees were friendly and helpful. For the price, it's a very decent B&B in Florence. Thanks for a nice stay!

The room was spacious, but the shower was tiny, and I didn't enjoy the stay. Getting to Florence Central station took about ten minutes on foot, which was the one real plus. Our street-facing room had little sound or heat insulation: we could hear people outside and in the corridor. We were awake until 1 o'clock in the morning and had to get up early. If you go to bed early and want quiet, this probably isn't for you. If you're young, out partying late, and only come back to sleep late in the evening, maybe it would work.

Breakfast was decent enough to get the day started, but the room felt very dated and the patio outside was dirty. I wouldn't come back.

We left a day early, and now we're trying to get one night's payment back. We had paid up front, and management was rude and didn't deal with any of our concerns. The room was uncomfortably warm, but they refused to turn on the AC, saying, "It's not July." Opening the window to cool things down brought mosquitoes in. The bathroom had black mold in the shower, and both the entry and bathroom doors scraped along the floor, getting worse as they expanded in the warmth and humidity. Avoid this place.
