The main drawback is the walk to the city center, about 15 minutes, so it may feel a bit far if you want to be right in town. We still had a lovely stay at La Fortezza. The staff we met were all so nice, especially the front desk and breakfast teams. Breakfast offered a good range of pastries, juice, and yogurt, plus really yummy cappuccinos. Our room was a good size, and the patio was lovely.
We walked from the station in about 15 minutes, so it's not far. Staff, service, and breakfast were all excellent, and our newly renovated room looked beautiful. The one annoyance was the Wi-Fi. We were on the first floor, where the signal kept cutting out and the internet was slow.
After trying many hotels in Florence when my husband comes to visit me as a student here, I finally found La Fortezza. It's got the rooms, location, and facilities I've been looking for. The tram is only two minutes away, making the airport and the rest of Florence really easy to reach. The neighborhood is great too, with wide roads and some greenery, both unusual for Florence. It makes a perfect base for the city and Tuscany. Love it, I'll only book this hotel in Florence from now on.
The hotel is in a peaceful area, a little away from the main attractions, but public transport is right next door. My room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were very kind. I had a wonderful stay.
We could walk to everything we wanted to see in beautiful Florence. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. Breakfast had a great selection, with excellent coffee too. A great stay at Hotel la Fortezza!
