La Residenza di Michelangelo

We were usually out by 7am and didn't get back until late, so we rarely saw anyone at reception. The woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful, and told us a little about the building, which explained the odd shape of our room. We had to keep our large suitcases in the passage between the bed and bathroom, though smaller bags could fit beside the bed. The location was excellent, close to the sights, Centrale and the bus terminals.

Everything was clean and tidy, and there's a lift up to the second floor where the apartments are. The location is great for walking to many of the main sights, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

The location was convenient, but that was the only good part. The room felt barely 20% clean, with a superficial job and dust everywhere. The old iron beds and worn mattresses were so uncomfortable that we couldn't sleep all night.

We stayed in a deluxe triple room with one king bed and one single bed. It was clean, with a small but workable bathroom, bottled water each day, and tea and coffee in the room. There's no breakfast, though plenty of cafes are close by. The B&B is very secure, with large double timber doors at the entrance that need the key tag provided at check-in, plus another locked double set leading to the corridor. There is a lift. It's a four-minute walk from the station and right in the heart of things, with lots of attractions within walking distance.
