Palazzo Lombardo

The receptionist was so kind. Traffic held us up, but she waited until 7:30 in the evening so we could check in. It’s a palace open to guests rather than a hotel, and it sits a little outside the main city, so journey times depend on traffic. The room was lovely, with its own bathroom, and the bed was really comfortable. There’s a large room they call the “Coffee Room,” stocked with lots of cookies, bread, and other things. If you have heavy bags, ask for a ground-floor room. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the room was clean and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The place itself is gorgeous, more like a mansion with lots of private rooms than a regular hotel. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and three bus lines close by can take you to San Marco plaza. It’s close enough to downtown for getting around, and we’d definitely stay again!

Tiziana noticed we were on our honeymoon and surprised us. She also answered all our questions, shared tips, and sold us bus tickets. We loved the decoration, and our room was extremely clean. The heater worked well and the bathroom was good. It’s a bit far from the main tourist attractions, so the location isn’t ideal. Still, it didn’t cause us any trouble since we could take a bus or walk a reasonable distance, about 3 km.

The hostess is so kind and made us feel at home. The palace is every bit as gorgeous as its name suggests, with lots of room, and it’s kept very clean. There’s a snack bar with a coffee machine available at any hour. The historic city center is about 25 minutes away on foot or 10 minutes by bus. I’d definitely recommend staying here for a Florence vacation.
