Il Guelfo Bianco

The staff always had a good breakfast selection ready, and they were so friendly. Il Guelfo Bianco has a warm, welcoming feel, right down to the candy dishes that reminded me of my grandmother’s house. The location made it easy to get around Florence, and the staff were truly remarkable. When we unexpectedly had lost luggage and a train strike to deal with, they went out of their way to help. I’d give this very special place more than five stars if I could.

We got complimentary water and prosecco every day, and the hotel was spotless and very well kept. It’s easy to walk to everything from here. The staff were lovely and gave us lots of great tips on places to visit in Florence. I really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend it! Grazie!

Our room had beautiful high ceilings, a comfortable bed, and a view into the courtyard. The hotel itself felt like walking through a Renaissance home, with modern artwork throughout. Breakfast was buffet style, with fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt and toppings, cold meats and cheeses, juices, scrambled eggs, and a few hot dishes. There were so many choices that we could try something new every morning, though we always had a chocolate cornetto and that lovely fresh mozzarella. The staff were welcoming and friendly, greeting us with chocolates, water, and helpful advice. The location is perfect, within a five minute walk of Il Duomo, the Gallerie dell’Accademie, the Santissima Annunziata, San Lorenzo, Mercato Centrale, and lots of shops and restaurants. We stayed four nights and only wished we could have stayed longer. I’d absolutely return and recommend it to friends.

This was our third stay at Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco, and we’ve already started looking forward to a fourth. It feels like our home in Florence, with a consistently welcoming atmosphere and high standards throughout. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished, with traditional Florentine charm and everything needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is a highlight, with fresh pastries, breads, fruit, cheeses, and hot choices, all presented beautifully. The complimentary Prosecco is a lovely, generous surprise. The location is hard to beat: just a few minutes’ walk from the Duomo, with the historic center right outside, yet the hotel feels peaceful and tucked away from the busiest crowds. It’s an easy base for sightseeing, meals, and enjoying the city. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
