Nonna Lina Rooms

When we arrived, the covers were covered in stains, so we left right away. The owner rents 3 bedrooms in an apartment to different guests, hostel-style, but this wasn’t stated anywhere, and we didn’t feel safe. The keypad wasn’t working properly, so she opened the door for us, yet she later told booking.com we were no-shows. She refused to give even a partial refund, then rented the room to someone else the next day. We felt completely scammed. I also have photos that I’ll post.

The location puts you right among the most tourist-crowded parts of the city, close to everything, though you’ll have to put up with the crowds as soon as you step outside. The room was very clean, and the girl handling check-in was helpful. She explained what we needed to know in Italian with some English words mixed in. It’s a budget room in a quite overpriced Florence, so it still felt expensive for what you get. The tiny bathroom was clean but awkward to move around in, and the bed could have been more stable.

We’d never stayed in this kind of hotel or room before, but I’m glad we picked Nonna Lisa Rooms. The room was super clean, the location was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. There were two rooms in the place, and we were the only guests that night.

The little treats made us smile, especially the coffee, cookies, and candies. Everything had been thought through so well, and staying here was a cheerful stop on our holiday. Many thanks!
