The location is very convenient, and breakfast was excellent. The staff were kind and helpful, too. The suites are impressive and nothing like standard hotel rooms. If you’re interested in history, look up Bianca Capello’s fascinating story on Wikipedia...

We spent the end of our honeymoon in the Imperial Suite. It was a stunning room, beautifully decorated and carefully looked after, with a fascinating history. Since there are only a few rooms, the place felt quiet and private. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The only problem during our four-night stay in the Prestige Suite was the internet, which could be stronger and more reliable. Otherwise, the suite was very spacious and comfortable, and the service was kind, thoughtful, and helpful.

We came to Italy for our wedding, but a major airline strike left us grounded in Frankfurt. Trying to reach the hotel was a nightmare. We asked to move our dates, but they were sold out, so business was clearly going well. They said, “sorry it wasn’t our fault that the airport stopped all flights, we couldn’t sell the room so you will be charged the full amount.” I understand the situation wasn’t their fault, but it wasn’t ours either, and we got no empathy during our wedding week. I expected at least a partial refund, or at the very least an apology for something beyond our control. This is the first review I’ve ever written. The lack of class and compassion left me with one thing to say: do yourself a favor and don’t stay here on your European travels.

I spent an hour here. Visit this ancient palace, built by Bernardo Buontalenti between 1570-74. Bernardino Poccetti decorated it with grotesque motifs in 1570-80. Francesco I gave it to the Venetian noble Bianca Cappello. ****
