Palazzo Graziani

The roof terrace was the highlight for me, with an incredible, open view of the Duomo and the rest of Florence. The hotel is right in the center, about two minutes from the Duomo, with several bus stops nearby. Our room was very clean, and the staff were consistently kind and helpful. There are lots of bars close by, though, and the soundproofing is poor, so sleeping could be difficult for some people.

The location and the views from the rooms were great, and the service was consistently good. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a B&B, but I was pleased.

We arrived expecting the lovely rooms shown in the listing, since I’d booked a year ahead. Instead, we were taken to a sparse, ultra-modern room on the second floor, described as newly renovated. If I’d seen photos of that room online, I wouldn’t have booked it. It had no character, no toilet paper, and no blanket, just a sheet and a thin bed cover. Very disappointing.

The location was hard to beat. We could walk all around Florence while avoiding the biggest crowds. The terrace was beautiful, and having breakfast there was lovely. Breakfast was really good by Italian standards, with plenty of sweet and savory choices. We stayed three nights in late October, and the room was more than large enough for three, with a very comfortable bed. The staff were nice and let us check in early, which we appreciated. We’ll definitely return.
