Palazzo Martellini Residenza d'Epoca

Check-in was a really bad experience, and the way they run things seems like a mess. I had booked for a family member and had to call because nobody was at reception. The Wi-Fi in the room didn’t work properly. I thought parking was free because it was listed under facilities, but they asked me to pay at checkout. I wouldn’t recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

The rooms are clean and roomy, and being on the south side of the river puts you within easy walking distance of the city. That location made up for some of the downsides. The people working there were kind, but I hadn't realized it was basically a partly hosted Airbnb, with limited staff around and not many amenities for the price. Breakfast was another squeeze, the room felt tiny when several groups were eating and chatting at once.

We were right by Ponte Vecchio, with bars, restaurants, shops and sights all around, so getting around Florence was easy. The room was clean, breakfast was tasty, and the staff were nice. You can hear the street from the room, and the main entrance was sometimes left open. It’s a lively neighborhood and a great base for exploring, though the price felt high.

The staff were the best part for me. Manuela even found us alternative transportation at the last minute, and she was incredibly helpful. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and I ended up looking forward to breakfast every morning, even though I usually prefer trying local places when I travel. I had to save room for lunch. The main sights are an easy walk away, and I’d happily stay here again when I’m back in Florence.
