Piccolo Hotel

The hotel is well placed for the main station and other attractions, with most things within walking distance and good restaurants nearby that stay open late. The customer service began before we arrived, when they got in touch to ask about special requests, such as an extra bed for our family of four with two small children. At check-in, Mr Sameer, the property manager, made us feel at home and gave us useful tips about nearby places and restaurants. The next morning at breakfast, he offered our kids warm milk. Having a good property manager meant we could focus on our holiday instead of running around looking for things.

The property manager was fantastic, warm, helpful, and accommodating. Just so you know, the double bed was two single beds pushed together, which was fine. The washroom is older, but it does the job.

The bus stop right on the corner was handy, and we could also walk to places from there. We had a four-bed suite with our two kids. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi worked, and the shower had hot water. The air conditioning worked perfectly during our visit, despite what I’d read in earlier reviews. There’s no elevator, which was the main downside, but the kind person at reception helped us with some of the luggage.

The extra charges and the way check-in was handled made an already stressful stay worse. After booking, we kept getting messages about fees and last-minute payments. Arriving late meant going to another location to meet someone, who asked for more cash. Then we struggled with the faulty front door outside in the dark. The room temperature swung from unbearably hot to freezing, and a family member became ill. We only got cold showers, despite the notice saying hot water might take a few minutes, and the Wi-Fi kept dropping out. The furniture was worn, the bed uncomfortable, and there was mold around the bathroom fixtures. We were told housekeeping was daily, but no one came. Reception was rarely staffed, and our calls, emails, and WhatsApp messages went unanswered, even though we’d been assured help would be available. After 5 PM we couldn’t use the kitchen or even get coffee. All the signs about rules and monitoring made the place feel unwelcoming. This was a confusing, uncomfortable stay that fell far short of what was advertised. The biggest problem was the lack of warmth and basic support. I wouldn’t return or recommend it, especially to families or anyone wanting an easy stay.
