Ponte Vecchio Sky Apartment

We had a wonderful weekend in Florence with the whole family, and this house was just right for us. It had every comfort we needed, and the location was perfect. Stepping out early in the morning just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio was a real pleasure.

Just steps from Ponte Vecchio, on the second floor of a quaint street, the location made us forget the long walk to get there. The place is tastefully furnished, clean, and has everything needed for a short stay. It felt like an elegant little nest in Florence’s historic center. The welcoming, friendly staff did all they could to make our stay memorable.

The host was friendly and tried to help, which I appreciated, but the cleanliness and upkeep were poor. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, crumbs between the folded parts of the sofa bed, hair in the blanket, and dust on the table and picture frames. The stairs are narrow and steep, which I understand, but the cleaning needs to improve. The place had high ratings on Booking.com, yet it seemed like it had been vacant for a while and poorly maintained. I’m adding this because the owner replied. We found the cobwebs first and might have let them go if we hadn’t said anything. The sofa bed was dirty and covered in crumbs. I took photos, and can share them if you don’t believe me. They offered to remove the cobwebs, but we declined because we didn’t want them falling onto the bed or our suitcase while open. Does that count as refusing? I also photographed the dust. They could have admitted the cleaning wasn’t done properly, so I don’t understand the excuses.

You can easily walk from here to Florence’s most important and beautiful sights. Just keep in mind it’s really only suitable for a couple.
