You can really feel the city's rhythm from here, and it's hard to imagine a better spot for getting into its atmosphere. Ponte Vecchio is just steps away, and Florence's sights are within walking distance. There are two restaurants and a winery practically at the door. Being so close to the river does mean lots of mosquitoes, so bring good protection.

It's in a touristy area where cars can only come up to the hotel, so you can't drive around freely. The location is handy for exploring on foot, and the place was clean. There's no elevator, and while a washing machine is available, the kitchen could use more pots and pans. We ate at restaurants when needed. Parking at $100 a day felt a bit steep.
