The lighting was the one thing I’d change. It was either very bright or quite dark, so a dimmer or softer bulbs would’ve been ideal. I also couldn’t work out how to control the heat, and the room got stuffy and warm in the middle of the night. Still, we’d happily stay at Hotel Principe again. We were there for three nights after leaving a terrible B&B at 10pm, and thankfully the hotel had a room. The decor was lovely, the staff were kind and helpful, and the location just off the river made it easy to walk to sights and good restaurants. Our room was clean and big enough for our family of four, with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast had fruit, eggs, sausage, yogurt or cereal, plus toast and jam.

The place was spotless, and Hardeep welcomed us warmly with some really good restaurant tips. We had a great visit. The location was incredible too, with a direct view of ponto vechhio and easy access to the station, designer shipping, the leather district, and loads of restaurants.

The rooftop is a real highlight, and the hotel has a beautiful old-world elegance. Everyone on staff was great. Special thanks to Jeffery, who made me feel at home with his warmth, humor, and attentiveness, and made a mean Negroni!

We chose Hotel Principe for its reviews and its location near the railway station, about an eight to ten minute walk away on the main road. After two nights there, I’d gladly return to Florence and spend more time enjoying the hotel instead of rushing through the city. The room’s balcony looked out over the city, and the terrace offered a broad view of Florence as well. Our spacious room was spotless and beautiful, with a sort of royal-residence feel. The hotel itself mixes heritage details with a modern style, giving it a striking, almost palatial look. Breakfast was included and very good. The reception staff were polite and helped us figure out what to see.

The rooftop view is stunning, though it was too cold for us to use it. Our room had its own balcony overlooking the river and city, and the decor and amenities were lovely. The bed was very concise. Staff were extremely helpful and gave us a warm welcome.
