Relais Gaia

It was really quiet and clean, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The location was handy for the main sights without being in a crowded spot. Since my flight was delayed, I arrived very late and checked myself in using the instructions they sent. I barely saw any staff, just ran into them a couple of times, and I actually liked that. It seemed like a small place, maybe five rooms or fewer. My room was too cramped for two large suitcases. One ended up blocking the patio door, so I couldn’t use the patio. I think they have larger rooms, though. The pillows weren’t very comfortable either.

The staff were really friendly, and the room had a lovely terrace. Breakfast was fine, with a delicious bakery croissant, yoghurt, coffee, toast, butter, and jam. The place was clean and well located. I would have liked healthier choices, with more fresh food instead of just sweets. That’s a complaint I have about Italian hotels generally. The room could also be a little bigger.

We really enjoyed our three nights here. Our air-conditioned room opened onto a small private garden, and having a mini fridge was a nice touch. Each morning the host brought breakfast made to our specifications, and it was delicious. They were thoughtful and very kind. One useful detail: if you book through the B&B’s own website, breakfast is included at the same price as on the booking platforms.

We stayed for two nights and found it great value for the location, about a ten-minute walk from everything. The room was smaller than I expected, but it worked perfectly for what we needed since we weren’t there to spend time in the hotel. I’d recommend it.
