After staying in central Florence, the chapel at Villa Strozzi felt like a welcome break from the city's bustle. It has a historic, distinctive character, but was also comfortable and clean. It's close to the city centre while still giving you a sense of the Tuscan Hills. We didn't have a car. A bus stop is nearby, reached through Guido's olive grove, where there are lovely places to sit. We enjoyed walking to Settingnano for dinner, about 20 minutes away, and especially liked the downhill walk home. Guido was a great host and kindly came to the bus stop to collect us and our bags.

The hosts were very friendly, and the peaceful setting at an old villa just outside Florence is lovely. A great fit if you're after quiet and time to relax.

There are plenty of things to see and do, nearby services, and public transport that works. The place has a beautiful atmosphere, and host Guido is hard to beat for friendliness.
