Palazzo Uguccioni Apartments

The staff weren’t based at the apartments, but they were quick to respond by email or phone and were very helpful. And the location is a real plus, right in the historic center with the main sights an easy walk away. The room needed more attention, though. There was dust, stray hairs on the folded towels, soap buildup in the shower, and rotting wood. They didn’t even leave shower soap. With so many similarly well located hotels around, Palazzo Uguccioni doesn’t stand out. It feels like cleaning and maintenance aren’t getting the investment they need, so I’d spend my money and time somewhere else.

My family booked this apartment for my mom’s 70th birthday, but COVID meant we had to cancel our flights and, as a result, the booking. We contacted the property a week ahead and tried to arrange another date, but they wouldn’t help or offer credit. They ignored our messages instead of replying, and the people we dealt with seemed rude and inconsiderate, as if they only wanted the money. It was a horrible experience. I’d choose somewhere with a decent cancellation policy, because this property didn’t seem to care about us.

We could see Palazzo Vecchio from our room, with the Duomo visible on the other side, and all the major sights were a short walk away. The apartment’s spot in Piazza Della Signoria is fantastic. The halls carried a lot of noise, and guests arriving or doing laundry woke us several times. The bedding was in poor shape and the room could use some updating. We also got bitten by mosquitos at night even with the windows shut. Check-out was at 10 am, but the cleaner showed up even earlier.

The apartments were great, and the location was fantastic for galleries and sights. Best of all, they were really clean.
