The Santo Spirito square is lively, with nice restaurants, and the neighbourhood felt beautiful. The apartment was in a quiet area for sleeping, with a nice firm bed and a new, nicely done bathroom. We were glad to get it at the last minute after our original booking was cancelled. But the place had very little natural light, only in the mornings, because it sits low inside a courtyard with high walls. We spent little time there, though the darkness did make sleeping easy. There's no couch, wires are tangled around the TV, and there’s nowhere to hang towels. It felt like a new place that still needed refining. There was also a dusty smell, which I think may just come from the building. The photos make the apartment look much better. On our way to Florence, we were told we'd need to pay a deposit, city tax, and a €45 late check-in fee or we couldn't stay. The person who greeted us was asleep, haha, but very kind. I got an automated response to my Booking.com review, then an automated email asking for a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google review to help increase Sweetstay's online visibility and saying they were delighted I'd enjoyed my stay. I also tried to give feedback through the booking chat, and they didn't reply to that message, though they did answer a later one. It left me feeling that giving guests a good experience isn't a priority, so I'm sharing this here since they asked me to.
