The location and kitchen amenities were good, but the rest of the experience was bad enough that I won't return and would advise others to stay clear. Check-in was supposed to be at 15, but at 16:20 the person was only starting to clean and the apartment wasn't ready. When I reported a broken bed on arrival, the booking was suddenly cancelled on booking.com. I don't know if that was about commission or an attempt to prevent feedback there, but it caused stress because we didn't know what it meant for our 300 euro deposit. The host blamed a booking.com "glitch," though I think they made that up. No one offered to inspect or fix the bed, so we repaired it ourselves. The deposit was eventually returned, but the whole thing left a bad taste. I wish I'd checked reviews beyond booking.com, which are all horrible, and I'll do that from now on. The cleaning was poor too: the carpets had rubbish on them, including bits of glass.

Being near the center was the good part. The room had no ventilation, and the window wouldn't open, so I slept in stale air. The sheets weren't very clean either. Worst was the strong sewage smell in the bathroom. It looks as though the bathroom was built over the sewage, and there could be a risk of H2S gas, which is very dangerous. For that price, it felt more like a place for cows than people.

Don't stay here. I booked three nights in Florence, but after the first night I woke up with bed bug bites. The accommodation didn't help me find another place or even respond to the problem, so I left. I had an allergic reaction and paid 60 euro in medical bills, and they did nothing to compensate me. Don't spend your money here.

The room was clean and close to the city center. For the price, everything was okay.
