The woman who owns this place was nasty to me. A nice couple outside couldn't get in and couldn't make a call, so I stopped to help. She phoned and was very rude, then sent the entry details to my phone and followed up with more instructions minutes later. I replied to say I was no longer with the couple. She blamed me and held me responsible for not staying with them. When I called her out for being mean, she started cursing at me and said a lot of very mean things.

The room itself was clean in the bathroom and had an artistic design, and the owner was friendly and helpful with information. Check-in also went smoothly with the instructions provided. The problem was the noise outside, especially trains starting around 4 or 5 a.m. It was loud enough to wake us, and earplugs didn't help. There was no fridge, which was a shame in Florence's heat. I had a good stay apart from the noise, and better sound insulation would make it more comfortable.

I'm furious about how this was handled. We booked directly through the hotel's website and paid once on the day we reserved. Two days later, they charged my card again. I emailed proof of the duplicate charge and called. At first they said they'd sort it out, then they stopped replying to my emails. They are taking people's money as if that's normal. Be careful if you book here. Florence has plenty of other bed and breakfasts and hotels, so I'd book somewhere else.

The rooms are newly built and clean. Breakfast is the problem: it's served in the room, there's not enough for one person, and asking for more didn't help.
