Tourist House Liberty

The staff were friendly, and the surroundings were very clean and quiet. Tourist liberty House isn't far from the train station, though getting to the main attractions takes a 15-20 minute walk. I enjoyed my stay.

I booked five nights here, but on the first night I felt as if bugs were crawling on me while I slept. Worried they might be bed bugs, I slept with my head on the desk, packed my things, and left to clean up and find another place. I have never felt so dismissed by a hotel or business when I reported a problem. They looked at me as if I were crazy, and said I wouldn't get a refund for the remaining four nights. I emailed the next week and was brushed off again. They claimed I left because I had to share a bathroom, even though I'd said I didn't mind sharing. On day one, I'd only asked whether I could move to a private bathroom room if one became available, since it was my birthday and that would have been nice. I left because of the bed bugs. They didn't seem to care, and were rude over email. After reading more Google reviews, I saw many reports of some kind of bug in rooms, including bed bugs, fleas, or mosquitoes. Saving money here isn't worth the possible bugs or the customer service. The staff were super rude and seemed to criticize me the whole time. I didn't feel welcome, won't stay again, and wouldn't recommend it. If a hotel has bed bugs, you'd expect an immediate apology and a refund, not rude staff saying it's your fault. I'd stayed in many hotels, Airbnbs, and hostels without a bed bug problem until this place. I'm disappointed by my one night here and by what I spent on it and finding another accommodation. For that amount, I could have had an amazing hotel for my birthday. In response to their comment below, I told them about the bed bugs in person and by email. Whenever someone says something bad about this place, they blame that person. They take no responsibility. Their response was disrespectful and disappointing all over again.

It had a beautiful, almost magical atmosphere, warm and homey, with meticulous service and quality. I'll keep coming back to the hotel to experience that Renaissance magic again.

The room was large and private, and the location was perfect. The sign said it would be cleaned every three days, but mine was tidied daily. The shared bathroom was nice and clean. They asked for cash, but I could pay by card for an extra 8€, which was worth it for the convenience.
