UNA HOTELS Vittoria Firenze

The breakfast and coffee machine were great, but the room had a musty, damp smell and mosquitoes in the bedroom. The hotel could use renovation, especially the plumbing. The sink and shower drains didn’t empty properly, and the toilet barely flushed.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was fine, with what you need to get going. The hotel also has plenty of services and amenities that made things comfortable. I liked the modern, artistic foyer and common areas, with creative details to spot everywhere. The idea of offering extraordinary rooms is great too. Our room, though, felt dated, especially the bathroom, which needs an upgrade. Even though it was marked non-smoking, it smelled strongly of cigarettes, like a whole packet. We don’t know whether smoking is allowed in some rooms or the smell came through the ventilation, but we ended up smelling as if we’d spent the night in a smoky bar. Updating the rooms and sorting out the air would make a real difference. It was a pleasant stay thanks to the lovely staff, but the rooms need attention.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a fresh, varied selection. I also liked how welcoming and professional the staff were, especially their tips about Florence. UNA Hotels Vittoria Firenze has a distinctive, stylish design that gives it more character than a standard hotel. It’s not right in the busy tourist centre, but the main sights are walkable or a short ride away. Some parts of the hotel are beginning to look worn and could use a refresh. Even so, I had a great stay and would gladly come back.

Friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast buffet in the morning. It’s an interesting hotel. I gave it three stars because there were no USB charging ports in the rooms.
