Hotel Unicorno

If you’re mainly after a central, accessible location, this is a good option. The main train station is about a 10-minute walk away. But for a more refined stay or better value for money, it may not suit you. We were given a reasonably sized room on the top floor, though it felt quite dark because the lighting was poor. The staff fixed an air conditioning problem right away, and cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. The dining room could use work, both in food quality and variety.

My single room was small but just big enough. It looked recently renovated and was very clean. Even though it faced the street, there wasn’t much traffic noise. The staff were great, and breakfast was better than I expect in the US. Great location!

We were happy with the excellent service and enjoyable breakfast buffet, although a few salad options would have been welcome. The room had been updated, but the bed was against a cold outside wall, which made it less comfortable. The bathroom was excellent, and the amenities were high quality. The Unicorns Hotel is right in the heart of Florence, a perfect base for seeing the city. Its interiors have recently been renovated, giving the place a fresh, stylish feel. A solid city stay, with a couple of things to improve.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the windows did a great job keeping out road noise. There was a fridge with complimentary water, good water pressure, and a toilet with a seat, which was a bonus for me. I think we might have been given a larger room than we booked, but I’m not sure. Reception were helpful and friendly, the location was great, and breakfast tasted good even if there weren’t loads of options. I’d gladly stay here again.
