Bed & Breakfast Federico II

The rooms were tidy, clean, and welcoming, and breakfast was served at a charming café next door. The B&B is right in Piazza De Santis, close to Foggia Cathedral and lots of amenities. Maria made us feel very welcome, always smiling, kind, and ready to help.

There are lots of stairs and no elevator, which makes this place inconvenient for older or disabled guests. The B&B is very outdated and nothing met the standard. We weren't given a receipt or bill. I wouldn't stay here again.

Getting our luggage to the hotel was difficult because it's in the square by the cathedral, inside a restricted traffic area, and we had to park quite far away. The "Isabella" room was beautiful in location but extremely cramped, with barely enough space to get around the bed. The double bed had two worn-out old spring mattresses and stiff pillows. Lighting was dim: only one of the two wall lights worked, and just one weak bulb out of eight in the chandelier. The bathroom was poorly lit too. On the morning before checkout there was no hot water, so I had a cold shower, and I couldn't find anyone to help. Everything in the lobby was switched off.

No one came to clean the room or replace the towels during our five-day stay. Breakfast was available on only two of those days, and there was barely anything left whenever I went downstairs, even though they knew guests were staying. The room was awful: dark, with a chandelier that didn't work and curtains that were old, smelled of smoke, and wouldn't open. I couldn't sleep because the double bed I'd requested and paid for was actually two single beds pushed together. It was just as dark in the bathroom, the mirror lights were out, and the showerhead was broken. Then on checkout day, after all that, the housekeeper knocked on our door three times to hurry us along.
