The welcome at reception was kind and helpful. The rooms feel a bit dated, though the hotel has its own charm. It's a peaceful spot between two beaches you can walk to, with public transport fairly close. I'd say it's especially suited to families and older guests. A good choice if you're after a relaxing stay.

We chose Forio over Ischia Porto and were so glad we did. The nearby beach is gorgeous, just a few minutes away on foot, and we found this side of the island perfect for a relaxing break. We had a magical stay and hope to return. The hotel grounds are spacious and breezy, with beautiful landscaping. Our partial sea-view room made us very happy. We'd seen comments calling the hotel dated, but we liked its old-school charm. The pool and thermal pool were pristine, and the deck loungers look out over the ocean. Most of all, every staff member we met was warm and kind, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Franco, Ciro, and Marcella started to feel like friends we looked forward to seeing each day. This was easily our favorite hotel of a two-week trip around Italy.

My mother is already talking about coming back, and I can see why. We felt cared for throughout our stay at La Scogliera, with excellent help from the staff, especially Gaetano. They sorted out our questions, directions, spa massages, restaurant bookings, and room queries. Getting there was easy too, thanks to the airport transfer by private car, hydrofoil, and minibus. Our spacious, spotless room was peaceful and had a sea view. The hotel has three mineral pools, including two thermal pools, and there's a public beach a short walk away. We enjoyed aperitivo on the sea-view terrace. The onsite restaurant serves varied daily menus with local dishes. Forio is about a 15-minute walk away, with plenty of pretty streets and a good choice of restaurants, bars, and shops. Grazie mille to the La Scogliera family for making us feel so welcome.

The rooms were nice, and I really liked the outdoor lobby and pool area. Service was excellent throughout, from the front desk to the restaurant and bar teams. The WiFi wasn't great in our room, and there was a small gap in one patio door window. I can't say how it compares with other four-star hotels, but this was a very nice stay.

Marcela made us feel right at home, and the service at La Scogliera was incredible. We had a fantastic time in Ischia and will definitely come back!
