We were pilgrims on the Via Francigena and found the place nice, but overpriced. After one of our reservations was cancelled, everywhere in town was full, and the owner took advantage of that by charging us more than usual. She also said we’d get a suite, but that’s not what we got. Avoid.

During our stay, a large ceramic vase stood in the middle of the top-floor walkway. I accidentally bumped into it and nearly fell, but managed to catch the vase. Its lid flew down the stairs and broke. Instead of apologizing, the hotel owner, Maria Los Angelis, demanded 400€ for the lid. I could have hurt myself or fallen down the stairs after hitting the vase. When we paid, we accidentally handed over 600€ because two bills had stuck together. She later called to say we’d paid too much, so we gave her our bank account details for a transfer. She never sent the money, and hasn’t replied to any of our messages or emails. It’s been over a month with no response. Apparently, money matters more to her than integrity.
