VOI Baia di Tindari Resort

We were a couple staying just one night before a sailing trip. It seems geared toward families, with all-inclusive meals and kids’ activities, including dancing after dinner. Our room was fine, but we didn’t especially enjoy dinner, though it might suit a family well. The beach nearby was only OK; the pool, on the other hand, is magnificent.

For a hotel that’s so well known, I expected more. The rooms are spacious and clean, but there’s a lot of noise from music and activities, and most of it is only in Italian. It’s full of families, so it’s not a good choice if you want peace and quiet. The fitness room is quite old, and the wellness area is okay but not especially fancy. The food quality is very poor for a four-star hotel, and breakfast doesn’t offer much choice. With the all-inclusive package, drinks are basic and low-cost, the beer and wine are poor, and the cocktails are awful. The staff are quite friendly, though not many speak English. The hotel is conveniently right by the beach, but there isn’t anything to do nearby. So that’s what to expect.

Alessandra at the front desk was amazingly helpful, and all the staff were friendly and always ready to meet our needs. We had some splendid days there. The food was fresh, plentiful, varied, and good, and the all-inclusive setup made it even better. The espresso and cappuccinos were excellent, and kayak rides were free. The shows were funny, and Tony (with the "Y") was a great animator. We had a lot of fun and will probably be back sooner than expected!

The staff and waiter were very friendly, and kayak and windsurf equipment were free to use. There were different sports and activities too, like aqua gym, archery, and dancing. Still, the animation felt too intrusive, with loud music at the beach and pool until midnight. The sea and beach were sometimes dirty, the buffet was repetitive and sometimes even included food from the previous day, and the WiFi mostly didn’t work. When it did, it only worked in the lobby. The shower box was very small for a four-star resort, and the gym equipment was old and dangerous, apart from the free weights, which were usable. It’s the right village for families with children, but not for anyone looking to relax. I wouldn’t visit again.
