The sea and city view from our room was breathtaking, and the room itself was beautiful. A couple of little things could be better: the tiled shower needs updating, and perhaps they could leave a bottle of water in the fridge. Neither TV worked, the one in the bedroom or the one in the living room.

We stayed in a room on the third floor of a historic building in upper Gaeta. It’s part of a fully renovated mini-apartment, furnished with good taste. From the living-room terrace there’s a wonderful view across the whole gulf, and the mattress was especially comfortable.

The room was spacious and bright, and the bathroom was decent, but the stay fell short of expectations. There’s no air conditioning, and the details around the place leave a lot to be desired.
