This is a simple, no-frills bed and breakfast, but it's welcoming and very central, just a few minutes from the Aquarium. It felt like being at home. Pino, the owner, was kind and helpful. He made us a very good breakfast, helped us find a garage for the car, and suggested a very good restaurant for dinner. Highly recommended.

All the tourist sights, the old town, and the port are easy to reach on foot from this city center house. Getting here from the train station with luggage is easy by funicular. On foot, Google Maps sends you up endless stairs, so don't follow that route. The rooms are spacious, the staff helpful, and breakfast is well served. My shared bathroom was also nice and spacious, with soap, towels, a hairdryer, and the other toiletries you need. All at a good price. Just watch the electrical outlets, they're smaller than standard European plugs. You can ask the owners for an adapter, or find plenty of shops selling them on the street opposite the train station. The attached photo shows the view from my room. It's a great place for a trip to Genoa, alone or as a couple.

The owners were kind and ready to help, and the price was good. The room furnishings could be better, though. Parking is awkward: paid options aren't close, and the nearby station elevator, handy as it is, shuts at 9 p.m.

The hosts were lovely, and they even arranged a garage for us through their son when parking nearby proved impossible. It was €15 a night; we left the car and keys there, and everything was fine, even with my new BMW. Finding the place takes care, so watch the house number. They’ll message on WhatsApp beforehand if you give them your mobile number, then help you get to the room. Ours was roomy and simple, with an okay bed. The bathroom was down the hall, but we had it to ourselves. Breakfast was nicely laid out and good. Street-facing rooms get a lot of noise, so choose another side if you can.
