Genova Gold Rooms

The room was clean and had a comfortable bed. It was small, but fine for what we needed, and there was coffee, water and tea at reception. I also liked checking in and unlocking the doors through the app. The location worked well for us, near piazza ferrari and the metro, bus and railway stations. The port is a 19-minute walk, and you can catch transport to the airport from the railway station. There’s only a fan, no air-conditioning, but we managed. With the windows open at night, we could hear the neighbours. The room also wasn't well insulated: light came in under the door from the hallway, and hallway sounds were very clear. As a light sleeper, I found that a downside. I wasn't keen on the shower either. It wasn't a proper shower enclosure, you showered beside the toilet and pulled curtains around it.

The rooms were clean and good, and the location was fantastic, with the train station and city center close by. Service and communication were excellent too. It’s a great fit for two or three days. Just be aware there’s no air-conditioning, only a fan, and the rooms can get warm.

We had a terrible stay because the service and condition of the place were poor. The soap and shower gel dispensers were both inexplicably empty, so I had to wash without soap. Luckily, I’d brought shampoo from home. The shower drain barely worked. Since the shower is level with the floor and has no tray, I was worried I might flood the whole property. The curtain was annoying and unhygienic, and there was no bidet. The property is in an old building, though thankfully there’s an elevator. The rooms are a bit small, and the old wooden windows let in every sound from downstairs.
