It’s a grand old building in a cozy town, close to one of the big cities, and the price was reasonable. The people were really nice too. These were my first two nights in Italy, and they were fantastic, just what I’d hoped for. One thing to know: the school orchestra may wake you around 8 in the morning. They play very well, and I loved hearing them, but not everyone will. Just bear that in mind.

A great spot for a few work nights. The rooms are roomy and uncomplicated but still comfortable, and the view is great. The egg gives you a sense of peace and relaxation.

The building and rooms were quiet and very clean. I was in a double room inside, looking out onto an old-fashioned inner courtyard, which I really liked. The location itself is a matter of personal preference. My only complaint is that there’s no indoor place to get drinks or basic snacks.

The old convent has a charming feel, and you can leave your car inside the gated grounds. In the mornings we watched the students in the courtyard, with classical music playing there during the day. The rooms are simply furnished with single beds, and the bathroom was functional. For a one-night stop, it was perfectly adequate, and we could get breakfast in the small cafeteria at a reasonable price.
